These plates are not in ideal shape, but what they lack in cosmetic appeal they make up for in character.
Bent, bubbled, cracked, extra-holed, rippled, scraped, sunburnt…these plates have experienced tough weather, tough roads, and tough times. The Maine agriculture plate is supposed to have a rosy orange background, but it’s faded away. The little clumps of dirt on the Oregon travel trailer are very well-entrenched; I’ve never wanted to remove them because I think they add a story to an already interesting plate. Texas MU 6789 I obtained early on in my collecting and I dubbed it “The Accordion Plate.”
